HISTORY OF HAZEN CONTRACTING, INC.

    Hazen Contracting got its start just prior to the great depression. For his first contract, Howard L. Hazen graveled all the roads in Bass Lake Community with pebble rock gravel.  Later he acquired a power shovel and several small dump trucks and worked for many of the townships in the county graveling roads as the need arose.

    During World War II, he worked primarily for Munson Township doing most of their work.  The company grew as the economy expanded and more families moved into the area.  After the war, his son Gale took an active part in the business and they started paving drives as well as doing a lot of politibody work.

    Today Hazen Contracting, Inc., Gale and his son Jeff and grandson Dan, do both public and private work with experienced workmen and the proper equipment.
